Executive
Interviewing
EXPERIENCE
During my extensive business career, I have been involved in a wide
variety of industries including retail, rubber, chemicals, paper,
food, high-tech, sports/recreation, and footwear. Assignments in
these industries have given me an in-depth knowledge base, enabling
me to approach each project with expertise and a broad perspective.
Past experience has shown that my interviewing skills are easily
transferable to almost any industry or special situation.
INTERVIEWING
APPROACH
As
a seasoned professional, I am able to interact effectively with
personnel at all levels of an organization from senior executives
to shop foremen. Most important is the fact that throughout my twenty-five
year career I have been fortunate to have interfaced with senior
executives in diverse industries on a daily basis. Although my interviewing
style with senior executives is direct, this does not prohibit the
exploration of sensitive issues. I am not afraid to ask the difficult
questions in order to uncover potential problems. I provide clients
with honest and unbiased feedback about an organization's current
operations, products, or services. Coming from the outside, I bring
a fresh approach to each assignment.
ASSIGNMENT
PREPARATION
Prior to each assignment, I am completely briefed on all aspects
of a client's operation and unique operating style. Meeting with
senior personnel of the sponsoring company, I develop a complete
understanding of the key issues to be investigated and the special
challenges that an organization may be facing.
REPORT
CONTENT
After each interview assignment, the sponsoring company receives
a report detailing key findings, conclusions, and an action plan.
Observations are direct and to the point. Recommendations come from
an in-depth knowledge of the assignment and are enhanced by practical
experience. When conducting interviews, I make every effort to tape
each interview. The sponsoring company not only receives a complete
report on the key findings, but it is also enriched with verbatim
comments from interview participants.
